A vet check is needed at any check point that a team is running really late for. A vet could leave Calumet and still be at a check point long before a very slow team arrives to see if it is safe for the dogs to continue, and also consider if it is safe for the volunteers to wait more than 2 hours after the next to last team to runs by, for the last team to arrive at a check point.
